Today I am joined with the wonderful Lindi, our wonderful real estate agent of the West of Mauritius. Welcome Lindi !
Before joining iKeys, what were you doing, in which industry were you working ?
Well I have done a couple things before joining iKeys, being very polyvalent, which helps me in the industry of real estate ! I was mainly in the audiovisual and graphic design. That was mainly it !
What made you want become a real estate agent ?
Well I always had that feeling of being a real estate agent, for some years, but I never joined any company in Mauritius before as such. But then I found iKeys, and I kind of fell in love with their luxury identity. Also, they are very digital and that clicked in my head ! So I applied and then that was it !
What would you say are the big qualities of a real estate agent ?
I must say being a real estate agent is not very easy, and everybody has their own way of working of course. First and foremost, trust, transparency, integrity are key in this job, as you don’t just sell properties, you sell them to people. Your client should know he can trust you.
As of now, we are in a complicated situation with the pandemix worldwide. How are you staying positive, what is your mindset like ?
Well, I am what you could call a positive person in my day to day life, I always try to focus on the positive aspects of a situation. Then we’ve got a very supportive team, which is always here for someone feeling down. It’s good to have that barrier around you, to know you can count on someone who work things through. We try to listen each other a lot
What would be your advice for any aspiring real estate agent ?
Never give up. Real estate agent is a tough job, and you need to be driven by passion. Knock the doors down, because they are not always open, and there is never a single deal that is the same. So, keep that inside drive, be true to yourself : these are the main values which will work out for you.
