Today GADAIT presents Marbella's Golden Mile: the jewel of Marbella. Dating back to the 1950s, the famous strip has become a symbol of ultimate luxury and exclusivity. The concept of the Golden Mile has become synonymous with "a high concentration of products and services of the highest quality", and is now used in other major cities in Spain and around the world to designate the best neighbourhoods. In neighbouring Estepona, the area of luxury properties is even called the New Golden Mile. But let's be clear, Marbella's Golden Mile is incomparable and nothing can rival it, because its exclusivity and lifestyle are second to none.
WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF MARBELLA'S GOLDEN MILE ?
The story of Marbella's Golden Mile began in 1954, when Prince Alfonso de Hohenlohe took the initiative to build the emblematic Marbella Club Hotel. It was inaugurated in 1976. It became the grail of Marbella's elite at the time, with many celebrities and royalty holidaying here. The area gained in popularity and, in turn, the development of the surrounding areas began. The prestige continues more than 60 years later, as some of the world's rich and famous have homes here. Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone and Michelle Obama are just a few of the long list of celebrities who have chosen Marbella as their summer getaway.
WHAT DEVELOPMENT MAKE UP THE GOLDEN MILE ?
Within the Golden Mile, there are a number of high-value property developments. What they all have in common is that they offer the highest levels of comfort and the buildings are of incredible quality. To better classify them, we can divide them into two groups: those below the N-340 road and overlooking the sea, and those above the road.
On the beach side, the flagship Puente Romano district, ideal for long- or short-term rentals, for buying a house and moving in, or for investing in property. All the flats, penthouses and private villas in Puente Romano are magnificent and benefit from the city's many advantages. On the seafront, there are also other luxury options such as the Alhambra del Mar urbanisation, Las Cañas Beach, the Marbella-Mar area, La Comunidad Las Torres del Marbella Club, Los Verdiales and Playa Esmeralda.
On the mountain side, after the 340 trunk road, the group of urbanisations is very selective and rises gradually into the hills, such as: La Carolina, Altos Reales, El Vicario, Monte Paraiso, Altos de Puente Romano, Las Lomas de Marbella Club, Las Lomas de Sierra Blanca, Jardines de Sierra Blanca, Meisho Hills and Monte Paraíso. The most notable locations are Altos de Puente Romano, Urbanización Señorío de Marbella, Urbanización Lomas del Rey and La Trinidad.
